Ed Reform is changing the way teachers will be evaluated in the future. Student achievement and test scores will be factors in teacher evaluation. Teachers need to learn how to document their successes so they have data and proof that their efforts are making a difference. The Race to the Top has created an environment that will put teachers' feet to the fire.

Create your own accountability binder. The book should contain printouts of all students' MCAS

scores and other test scores and information from the work you are doing in the classroom. Store

copies of your model lessons. If you can, use technology to record what you are doing, take

photos of your classroom successes, use a webcam to put it all online. Your Principal is going

to be using new evaluation tools to observe you, keep copies of all of your evaluations. If you

have a negative evaluation, make an appointment to sit down with your Principal to find out why,

and see what you can do to improve your future evaluations. Your job may depend on it. If you

are using RTI, use our free Progress Monitoring Tool to keep it all organized. Use online templates

for letters, etc. that you use often. Be prepared for the walkthrough, have your binder ready for review.
